It's been a beautiful weekend, aside from yesterday having more fronts move through than my head could handle. Made me feel weird all day. I had to have a sit-down and eat pastry.

Did you know you need appointments at posh wedding dress shops? You can't just go browse around. This is vexing.

Today in lab I cleaned the incubators. There was crud all over them. Mostly it was whitish crud, with a soupcon of orange crud and some rust colored crud that might have been rust. As the racks are made of stainless steel, this gives me pause. It made me reconsider all my notions about sterility.

Sounds like a community incubator and the gunk sounds like the source of your previous contamination. Clean it, kick everybody else out and pad lock the door. If they complain stare them down. Tell them you’ll let them back in if they follow your rules, be ruthless. Losing experiments to contaminated cells is a waste of time and money (sells well with the boss).

What anonymous said about contamination. Your rust-colored gunk is actually more likely to be bacterial than rust, although stainless steel DOES rust.

And...okay. You weren't being that quiet about your upcoming wedding, were you....
